Another big THANK YOU from the 2016 Archdeacon’s Charge and Picnic

Dear Jonathan,
Another big THANK YOU from the 2016 Archdeacon’s Charge and Picnic
In May, we were warmly welcomed to Sandringham for a return visit for the biggest Charge to date.
One thousand people took part; the new development of the Craft Fayre and Vintage Car Rally were very popular and we were again entertained by the Aylsham Town Band.  We were very grateful to Her Majesty for graciously allowing us to use the grounds of her home.  Her staff were most helpful and welcoming and our own team worked very hard to make the day such a success. It takes some time for all of your contributions to come in and be counted and I am now delighted to be able to tell you that we raised £16,657.87.  This magnificent sum will be divided between the East Anglian Air Ambulance and the Churches of all who raised the money. Thank you, again, to all who took part and made it such a successful day.

We are delighted to announce that next year’s Charge and Picnic will be held at Wolterton Hall whose new owners (Peter Sheppard and Keith Day) have generously invited us to enjoy their grounds.  Wolterton Hall was built for the first Lord Walpole in the 1740s. It lies in the Parish of Wickmere with Wolterton between Aylsham and Cromer.  The view from the Hall, looking out over the lawns and to the lake across the route we will be taking, has been described as the finest view in Norfolk!
All are welcome for another great event on the May Bank Holiday, Monday, 1st May 2017, again setting off at 11 am.
All are welcome to walk or to run or you can just come and enjoy the picnic and entertainment.  We will again have a circuit of 2.5 miles so that you can choose your distance with a challenge to the fittest to run or walk four circuits (10 miles).

As details and plans are developed, you will be able to find regular updates at: www.dioceseofnorwich.org/charge

With renewed thanks and very best wishes.
