Radio 4 Broadcast.
On the 12th June, the Radio 4 Sunday morning service was broadcast live from Sandringham church. There was a rehearsal on Saturday afternoon and then the choir and other participants had to be in church by 7 am on Sunday morning with the congregation arriving by 7.30 am. The Bishop of Norwich was present to preach the sermon. The service had to be 38.5 minutes long which meant that everything had to be exactly timed and adjustments made to the length of the readings, prayers and the number of verses in the hymns. This was all slightly thrown out by the 8 am news over running so we started 1.5 minutes late. This meant that further adjustments had to be made as we went along with the BBC lady coming into church and crossing out some of the prayers and holding up a notice to omit an extra verse in a hymn. When it was all finished, the choir and congregation enjoyed a cup of tea outside the church.
